Introduction

The Construction Training Fund has a range of scholarships available to assist in the development of careers in building and construction.

Schools2Skills Certificate II qualifications - $250

Students who successfully complete a recognised Certificate II Building and Construction qualification as part of their full-time WACE studies can apply to the Construction Training Fund for a $250 scholarship.

The qualifications included are

  • Certificate II Building and Construction - Trades Pathway (52824WA)
  • Certificate II Building and Construction - Construction Business Pathway (52825WA)
  • Certificate II Civil Construction (RII20715)
  • Certificate II Plumbing (52700WA)

Apply online or download and complete the application form and send it in within 12 months of completing your qualification.

Schools2Skills - $150 towards PPE

The Construction Training Fund provides funding of up to $150 per student towards PPE when they are enrolled in the approved Certificate II Building and Construction qualifications. This is made available to students through the Registered Training Organisation delivering the qualification to help meet costs of preparing the students for their work experience placements in the construction industry.

Pre-apprenticeships (full time enrolment) - $250

If you successfully complete a Pre-apprenticeship in a recognised trade area as a full-time student after leaving school, you can apply to the Construction Training Fund for a scholarship of $250.

The trade areas included are

Qualification Code 52824WA, Certificate II Building and Construction (Pathway - Trades):

  • Brick & Blocklaying
  • Carpentry & Joinery
  • Solid Plastering
  • Wall & Floor Tiling
  • Painting & Decorating
  • Wall & Ceiling Lining

Qualification Code 52700WA, Certificate II in Plumbing

Qualification Code MEM20105, Certificate II in Engineering:

  • Refrigeration & Air Conditioning

Qualification Code UEE22011, Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career Start):

  • Electrical

Living away from home allowance

The Construction Training Fund Accommodation Allowance is supplementary to that provided to eligible apprentices/trainees by the Department of Training and Workforce Development (DTWD). The final amount of assistance made available from the Training Fund to an eligible apprentice will be based on the amount paid for accommodation as noted on the invoice, less the amount of the allowance provided by DTWD and will not exceed $70 per night's accommodation.
