Building Designer

Did you know that building designers are responsible for more than 85 per cent of residential design in Western Australia and an ever-increasing proportion of commercial projects?  Design is the single most important element in creating a new building and every building site is unique with its own set of challenges and possibilities.  So if you like to find solutions to problems and make the most of possibilities then building design might be for you.

Building designers use their creative skills and technical building knowledge to produce practical, affordable and sustainable solutions in order to bring their client’s ideas and dreams to reality.  They design and produce working drawings and specifications for a wide range of residential and commercial projects. Many designers specialise in particular project types, including medium density housing developments, restorations, renovations, extension work and alternative housing.
