Gas Fitter

Natural gas is a key source of energy and many homes use natural gas appliances for heating and cooking.  Installing gas lines and connections is a specialist job carried out by a gas fitter.

Gas fitters install natural gas lines in homes and in commercial and industrial buildings. They are responsible for installing related equipment such as gas meters, regulators, valves and burners.  Gas fitters also repair and maintain gas lines, meters and other equipment and respond to calls about leaks or other faults.

The Dampier-Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline (DBNGP) is the only natural gas pipeline connecting the Carnarvon and Browse Basins on Western Australia’s North-west Shelf with industrial, commercial and residential customers in Perth and the surrounding region.  The pipeline runs from the Burrup Peninsula near Dampier, to Bunbury in the   south-west of the State.
